ABOUT
The research team of Greening the Greyfields project in New Zealand, currently integrates a project leader, Prof. Simon Kingham; a post-doctoral fellow researcher, Dr Rita Dionisio; and a research assistant, Joshua Neville; at the Department of Geography, University of Canterbury.

Prof. Simon Kingham
Project Leader
Professor Kingham's research is broadly focused int the relationships between urban environment and health. There is often a strong geospatial component to his work. Foci include:

How transport can be more sustainable and integrates people’s perceptions and attitudes to transport;

Health geography, focusing social and environmental determinants of health.

Environmental exposure, addressing questions such as health assessment affecting environmental aspects.
Dr Rita Dionisio
Post-Doctoral Fellow
Dr Rita's research focuses urban regeneration, urban Public Spaces and social interaction, and urban resilience. Within the Greening the Greyfields Project, her current research focuses the development of evaluation instruments to assess and simulate the impact of urban design in redevelopment areas, with specific focus in Christchurch.
Joshua Neville
Research Assistant
Joshua is a Master student at the Department of Geography developing research focused on land value capture in New Zealand. Within the Greening the Greyfields Project, Joshua performs research assistance and GIS data management.
